 Indoor shrimping
The first famous urban entertainment is "indoor shrimping". "Indoor shrimping" is a unique urban entertainment in Taiwan. In the city, the place for "indoor shrimping" is in an iron sheet house or inside a building. Usually, you can see two to three shrimp pools inside. One shrimp pool contains female shrimps; another pool contains male shrimps, and the other pool contains both female shrimps and male shrimps. "Indoor shrimping" in different shrimp pools charges differently. Normally, "indoor shrimping" is charged by the hour or by bait. The averagely expense is NT$200-300. In addition to "indoor shrimping", you can bake your shrimps by yourself. The shrimping field also provides cooking service. Of course, you may take the shrimps home directly. This activity is very popular with Taiwanese. At night, especially on weekends, a lot of people will go "indoor shrimping". People love to sit and fish shrimps around the shrimp pool. They can enjoy their time alone, or chat with friends and family. This unique entertainment is definitely worth trying.

KTV
The second famous urban entertainment is KTV in Taiwan. Taiwan’s KTV provides each group of customer a singing room and a great stereo system. Also, you can order food and drinks; some KTVs offer buffet. Usually, KTV is charged by the number of people or by the size of the singing room, but the price varies based on the time. Some KTVs open 24 hours and some open from 11 o’clock in the morning to next day at 6 o'clock in the morning. Going to KTV in the morning and in the afternoon is cheaper because most people are working. Likewise, Going to KTV after midnight is cheaper because most people are sleeping. That’s why many college students or night owls prefer to go to KTV after midnight; people call this activity "night singing." But, if you want to go to KTV after work, you’d better book one singing room before you go.

Biking
The third urban entertainment is biking. Compared to fishing shrimps and KTVs, biking is a relatively new entertainment. But in recent years, biking has become popular with Taiwanese. One of the reasons is that more and more people in Taiwan see biking as a good way to exercise and roam in the city. Another reason is that the public transportation has become more friendly to cyclists. For example, people can take their bikes onto trains; this makes it easier for people to have a biking tour around the island. If people like to challenge mountain roads, biking in Taiwan is a good choice. So, if you are interested in biking, don't forget to come to Taiwan to bike.
