The Taiwan ICT industry has grown to show substantial diversification. Many large companies have separated manufacturing units from branded operations. Its purpose is to allow greater specialization in both of these areas. Because the Taiwan’s up-and-down stream companies connect to each other, the industrial clusters offer distinct advantages. Company alliance has made Taiwan an excellent one-stop shop for procurement. At the same time, company alliance has helped rapid commercialization of product ideas.

One example is Acer Incorporation. Over the past five years, due to its market share, Acer has grown to be the world's third-largest PC maker. Now, Acer does not have in-house manufacturing. Its different branch companies deal with different production works. For example, one of them is Wistron Corp. Nowadays, Wistron provides manufacturing service to many companies. Its customers include famous notebook computer company. In Taiwan, many companies also use this method to provide the service.
